Education and Culture Week

CENTRAL Sulawesi Governor Longki Djanggola opened the Education and Culture Week in order to commemorate 2019 National Education Day which was held at LPMP Palu, on Thursday (04/25/2019).

The governor hopes that this activity can be a moment of reflection on the efforts that have been championed in the field of education, as a form of joint commitment according to the theme of the 2019education and culture week, “strengthening education, promoting culture”.

“From this theme, we are called to always strengthen the relationship between education and culture as reflected in the teachings, thoughts and practices of education carried out by Ki Hadjar Dewantara”, he said.

The Governor also appreciated the performance, because the UPT of the Ministry of Education and Culture can go hand in hand with the Education Office in Central Sulawesi in organizing activities in the fields of education and culture in the province.

He hoped that cooperation could continue to improve access and quality of education and promote culture.

In addition, improving education services will be in tandem with support for culture as an indicator of national civilization.

“We must continue to be committed, try to build education that is lived and illuminated by culture, the relationship between education and culture will be preserved if the young generation as the next generation can develop creative personalities and can have cultural values ​​and dignified characters,” he explained.

According to the Governor, education must support awareness of cultural diversity, because Indonesian culture has the greatest diversity in the world, so strengthening culture from the education side will enable teachers to know the direction of the actions needed to transform schools into an appropriate educational environment for ethnic and cultural diversity.

In addition, it also opened a dialogue that resulted in profound changes in pluralistic societies in terms of structure and ethnicity.

The governor said cultural education and national character besides functioning to develop and strengthen personal potential can also filter out influences from outside, which ultimately can shape the character of students who can reflect the culture of the Indonesian nation.

Gebernur hopes that from the theme carried out at the education and culture week this time, it will truly be used as a foundation as a form of joint commitment in strengthening education and promoting culture in Central Sulawesi.

The Head of the Central Sulawesi Education Quality Assurance Agency (LPMP), Muhammad Askari, said that this activity was held in collaboration with three UPT Kemendikbud, LPMP, DP Paud and Dikmas, Language Centers and the Education and Culture Office of Central Sulawesi and Palu City and supported by several other parties.

He hopes, through this activity can motivate the rise of the spirit of education after the September 28 2018 earthquake.

This Education and Culture Week will be held for 5 days from April 25 to 29, 2019.

Governor Longki, officially opened an educational exhibition stand that presented educational nuances such as the Indonesian Publishers Association, the Indonesian Teachers Association, Tunas Cilik  Foundation, and several other educational stands. ***
