Political observer, Darwis, assessed that
simultaneous elections were considered troublesome for the public and KPPS
officers were confused and complained with so many ballots.

“Simultaneous elections with five choices are
determined by the people, considered very troublesome. “It’s troublesome
for the people even more so for KPPS that don’t match their performance and
honorarium,” said the academician at Tadulako University on Monday
(4/22/2019).

“Simultaneous elections, only Indonesia
organizes. As a political event, of course there are many interests. Especially
the interests of coalition parties and community groups who want change and the
status quo, “he added.

The House of Representatives Commission II
requested that the technical implementation of elections be evaluated. This was
because there were many casualties, from KPPS officers who died to police
personnel. Republika Reported.

Deputy Chairperson of Commission II Herman Khaeron
said that the implementation of the election had become one of the main causes
due to the presidential election, the DPR RI, the Provincial DPRD, the Regency
/ City DPRD, and the simultaneous DPD. Therefore, the DPR will propose that the
re-election be held separately.

“Maybe the Legislative Election should be
separated from the Presidential Election,” Herman said when contacted on
Monday (22/4). In this connection, the Election Law was also planned to be
revised.

Herman also asked for the technical implementation
of the vote to be evaluated. Herman revealed, the House of Representatives had
asked the election organizers to carry out simulations related to voting and
vote counting times. So, work time and workload can be measured.

The KPU said that until now there were 91 KPPS
members or Voting Organizing Groups that had died during the recapitulation
process of the results of the 2019 Election. The KPU would meet with the
Ministry of Finance to discuss compensation.

“The KPU has discussed internally related to
compensation that will be given to the affected election organizers. Taking
into account various kinds of BPJS insurance regulations, then the inputs and
records that have been implemented so far. Because we plan tomorrow to have a
meeting with the Ministry of Finance,” said Chairman of the KPU Arief
