SULAWESI Provincial Sports Week (Porprov) VIII 2019 is
over. The four-year event crowned Palu City as the first overall winner with 44
gold medals, 42 silver medals and 48 bronze medals, followed by Parigi Moutong
District as the second overall winner with 39 gold medals, 29 silver medals and
41 bronze medals and Banggai Regency as third overall winner with 27 gold
medals, 21 silver medals and 32 bronze medals.

Central Sulawesi Governor was represented by the
Expert Staff for Economics and Development of the Central Sulawesi Provincial
Secretariat, Moh Nizam advised all Regional Governments in Central Sulawesi to
prepare a mainstay of sports in each region.

“I hope that every Regency and City can have
at least one sport that can be relied upon and truly prepared to be able to
achieve nationally,” said Governor in his remarks at the closing of
Sulawesi Province’s Porprov VIII Week 2019 on the Regent’s Office yard Parigi
Moutong, Tuesday (04/30/2019).

The Governor added, the results of the 2019
Porprov must be able to deliver the Central Sulawesi Province to achieve a
brilliant achievement at the national level.

“Through sports, we must be able to speak and
carve achievements and make the name of Central Sulawesi Province at the
national level,” he hoped.

The Governor also congratulated all athletes who
have won championships. For those who have not won an achievement, they can
continue to practice.

“Don’t despair because sports don’t wait for
champions but we have to practice so we can get champions later in the next
Provincial Sports Week,” he pleaded.

Representing the Governor, Moh Nizam put out the
eternal flame torch as a sign that the Central Sulawesi Provincial Sports Week
(Porprov) VIII 2019 had ended.

Meanwhile, on that occasion, Deputy Regent of
Parigi Moutong, H Badrun Nggai SE as Chairperson of the 2019 Porprov Committee
expressed his gratitude to all Regency/City contingents who have participated
in the entire 2019 Porprov agenda in Parigi Moutong District.

“On behalf of the community and the Parigi
Moutong District Government, I also apologize if while in Parigi Moutong
Regency there are things that are not pleasing. Goodbye, hope you have arrived
in their respective regions, “said Badrun Nggai.

In Porprov in Poso District 2015, Parmout was
ranked fourth, but this time the host showed the ability to improve the ranking
overshadowing Palu City as the defending champion.***
