MEMBER OF The
DPRD Palu regretted the termination of the work contract for 135 honorarium
workers carried out by the management of Anutapura Hospital. In the near future
the head of the hospital will be invited to explain the real problem.

“Personally, I do regret the decision to
terminate the 135 contract workers who served at Anutapura Hospital. Why the
employment contract is not extended, “said member of the Palu City DPRD,
Rusman Ramli, Tuesday (2/26/2019).

Rusman assessed that the non-renewal of the
honorary labor contract would create new problems.
“Because on the one hand, the hospital will
one day need their labor. On the other hand, the laid-back contract workers
naturally lost their jobs. “This certainly adds to the long list of
unemployed people after natural disasters in Palu,” he said.

In this case the City Government of Anutapura
Hospital must maximize its functions and duties properly. Do not let health
services be disrupted due to the termination of the contract o f 135 nurses.

“At least give them a handle, so that during
the time or when they are contracted the average long-serving contractor is not
confused with their own situation. Are they still going to be re-employed, or
not,” he pleaded.

“It is also regulated in Government
Regulation Number 49 Year 2018 concerning Employees with Work Agreement (P3K),
hopefully it can be followed up by the City Government. So that nurses who are
still productive and very much needed can be recalled,” concluded Rusman
Ramli.

Previously, it was reported that 153 contract
nurses at Anutapura Hospital questioned their fate after hospital management
laid them off on January 1, 2019.

The Contract Nurse Coordinator, Herdi, said, after
the natural disaster on September 28, hospital management said there would be a
reduction in nurses, especially non PNS.

“The reason for the management because it was
feared was unable to pay their salary,” said Herdi who claimed to have
worked for 10 years at Anutapura Hospital, during a press conference at the AJI
Secretariat in Palu on Monday (25/02).

His party accepted the reason with an agreement,
that whoever the nurse was dismissed or laid off, a Decree (SK) must be made as
a handle.

“That the workers who were temporarily
dismissed were not declared excluded,” he said.
However, he said, the delivery of management was
not the same as the initial delivery.
For this reason, he said, his party requested that
the government be able to be re-employed.

Because there are some points that are not in
accordance with the agreement and the rules that apply in the contract
agreement.

Chairman of the Central Sulawesi National Workers’
Union (FSPN) Federation, Lucky Sedama regretted the attitude of hospital
management who did not issue a guarantee according to the initial agreement.

“There must be a decree that is given so that
there are work ties, not broken up, considering that all these workers are
already in the database,” he said.
According to him, the demand will be followed up
to the DPRD, until it is fulfilled.

One of the nurses, Intan Pujiastuti, admitted that
he had been a contract worker for more than seven years, but at this time he
was dismissed, then replaced with someone else whose service had not been long.

“Doesn’t the management consider our
tenure,” he asked.

He said, at the time of the earthquake, he was in
service, his vehicle was overwritten by a hospital building. Not to mention the
house was destroyed and all that was not considered by the hospital.

At Anutapura Hospital itself, there were 400
contract workers. After the disaster, there were 153 contract workers
specifically nurses who were laid off.

Responding to that, Director of Anutapura
Hospital, dr Ruslan, said they had this one-year employment contract.

“In the Perda, it is appointed starting
January 1 as of December 31. After December 31, the contract is automatically
terminated. That means you have to repeat again, re-register according to the
needs and capabilities of the hospital,” he said.

Before the disaster, he said, the hospital had 550
beds, now there were 200 beds left, so there was limited service capacity.

“Of course to appoint honorary staff must be
adjusted accordingly. There is no guarantee that all employees last year must
be appointed by all. So we stopped nothing, but it was dramatic because the SK
had expired on December 31,” he said. **
