GENERAL Chairperson of the Indonesian Provincial
Government Association (APPSI) Longki Djanggola ventured about the governor’s
salary. Representing the governor of Indonesia, he asked the government to
increase the governor’s salary because it was far outnumbered the salaries of
DPRD members.

“One of our discussion material at APPSI is
the need for a salary increase for the governor. I am from the province with a
budget that is not too large, the salaries of DPRD members can reach Rp. 70
million. That is still coupled with various benefits,” explained Longki in
the APPSI National Working Meeting in Padang, West Sumatra, Thursday
(02/21/2019).

Longki talked about the salary problems of the
governors before Vice President Jusuf Kalla. Longki hopes to confide directly
at the central government.

“As a governor, when will I get something
like that?” Longki said, continuing to vent.

According to Longki, being a governor now is not
an easy job. Moreover, there have been a number of governors who were hit by
OTT.

“Do not think of being an easy governor. Many
are OTT. Now without money it can be OTT. One of them is a misposition to use
it, we can go to jail,” Longki said.

“Our salary is very small. Indeed, there is
an additional Rp. 8 million, but it must be equipped with receipts. Not for one
person, but for many people,” he said.
The APPSI National Working Meeting took place
since Wednesday (02/20/2019) and will discuss various work programs. Longki has
just replaced Soekarwo, who is no longer the Governor of East Java. **
