KAILIPOST.COM,- SULTENG- CENTRAL Sulawesi Governor Longki Djanggola officially launched Central Celebes Marathon 2018 in Palu Grand Mall, Sunday (4/2) night. On that occasion, Longki cautioned all parties concerned to work as maximally as possible for the success of international activities organized by the Government of Central Sulawesi.
He did not want Central Celebes Marathon 2018 to repeat the polemic that occurred at Palu International Marathon organized by one of the implementing organizations by cooperating with the Government of Palu City in 2016. “So I ask not to happen to Central Celebes Marathon 2018,” he said.
According to Longki, the stigma of Palu City was negative in the eyes of international marathon athletes due to gift giving problem that happened between marathon champion with Palu city government at Palu International Marathon which is a series of Festival of Pesona Palu Nomoni (FPPN) 2016. “Hopefully with this Central Celebes Marathon 2018, the stigma will fade away,” he hoped.
Central Celebes Marathon 2018 will be held April 15 with more than 1,500 runners from both home and abroad. Event Central Celebes Marathon 2018 was held in order to commemorate the 54th anniversary of Central Sulawesi, 13 April.
Central Celebes Marathon 2018 will be divided into four categories, namely categories of 42 kilometers, 21 kilometers, 10 kilometers and 5 kilometers. “Following marathon runners from overseas are categories 42 and 21 kilometers, the total prize we prepared for 456 million,” he explained.
Meanwhile, the chairman of the CCM committee, Syaifullah Djafar explain that through the event, the government will also promote the culinary, nature and marine tourism of Central Sulawesi to participants and spectators who come from areas in Indonesia and abroad. “The participants invite by registering in the web, namely https://www.centralcelebesmarathon.com/,” said Syaifullah as he promoted.
Launching of Central Celebes 2018 was marked by the beating of the gimba by Longki Djanggola and Assistant Deputy of Sports Education of Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora) Arifin Madjid, Chairman of Parliament Aminuddin Ponulele and Secretary of Hidayat Lamakarate.**
