KAILIPOST.COM,- SULTENG- In maintaining the food price stability ahead of Ramadhan, Central Sulawesi’s Public Logistics Agency (“Perum Bulog”) conducted a special rice market operation in a number of districts/cities in Central Sulawesi. For Palu area, it is centered in Masomba and Manonda Markets.
According to the Head of Procurement and OPP of Bulog Central Sulawesi, Bahar Haruna in market operations, Bulog cooperates with retailers in the market to sell rice according to government price standards. “Starting this week, we hold a price stabilization operation. Bulog sells medium rice ranging from Rp8.5 thousand per kilogram which is far below the Highest Retail Price (“HET”) set by the government, “said Bahar, in Palu, on Thursday (04/26/2018).
As per the regulation of the Minister of Trade (“Permendag”) number 57/2017 on the HET of rice, that the price of medium rice amounted Rp9.450 /kg and the premium rice (rice of the highest quality) amounted Rp12.800 /kg.
In addition, Bulog also provides solutions in the process of selling medium rice to help facilitate the sales distribution to traders. “The information on the market for medium rice is a scarcity, therefore Bulog is ready to fill its availability by delivering directly at the place of traders or traders come directly to Bulog,” he explained.
While the readiness of medium rice today, according to Bahar, can lasted five months. “For the readiness of Bulog’s medium rice, it can be up to five months ahead. So for fasting month is still safe with the possibility until September, “he said.
