DEPUTY Mayor of Palu, Sigit Purnomo Said so called Pasha “ungu” was alleged to have violated campaign rules in the 2019 Election. His activities in Buol had been disbanded by Panwascam. Pasha allegedly violated two provisions related to the election.
The Deputy Secretary General of the PAN DPP is suspected of having Bawaslu campaign in an open location (open space) and present a large mass of people. The rule is that open campaigns start later on March 24, 2019. The case was revealed in Buol District according to the information from the Election Supervisory Board (Bawaslu) of Buol Regency through its chairman Suardi Bedolo (02/21/2019) as quoted by utarapost.com.
Second violation; the DPP PAN Socialization / Campaign schedule that the Bawaslu received has exceeded the scheduled time, which is February 18, 2019 in Buol and the Pasha Leave letter ends on February 19, 2019. “We have sent a letter to campaign organizers today for questioning,” explained Suardi Badolo.
Whereas the second case; as Suardi revealed that it was suspected that PAN had stolen a start or an off-schedule campaign. Because the activity takes place in an open place and involves a considerable amount of time (general meeting). ’’The stage starts on March 24.’
“The result of our observation is that there is a suspicion that PAN must no longer do it, which is to bring people without invitation because the meeting activities are limited, for whatever reason, for example, the figure of Pasha Ungu,” said Suardi.
Suardi said, even though previously there had been a dissolution of the campaign by the local Panwascam based on Bawaslu’s instructions. It will still call on campaign executors. ’’This Pasha in my opinion he obeys, for him there is nothing but for the campaign implementers we invite to be questioned,” explained Suardi.
He added, the request for information from the implementers of PAN activities was a form of prevention of the Election Supervisory Body in terms of supervision in the framework of elections. So that the future does not happen again. For the future is not in the form of a warning but an action. “Indeed, the arrival of this person wants to see the Pasha, but that is not an excuse, the point is, this meeting is limited so that in the space not in an open place people automatically come because of the figure of Pasha Ungu,” concluded Suardi.
Must obey the rules
On kompas.com page, Chairperson of the Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) Abhan reminded regional heads who want to campaign to comply with the applicable rules. The head of the region is obliged to leave if he wants to campaign on weekdays. If the campaign is carried out on holidays, they do not need leave.
“They have the right to campaign, but of course we urge the rules of the game to be obeyed. So when working hours do not campaign,” Abhan said after a discussion ‘Towards Dignified Elections’ in the Kenari area, Central Jakarta, (2/14/2019).
Abhan explained, the leave of the regional head campaign can only be done once a week. The provision, has been stated in Article 303 paragraph 1 of Act Number 7 of 2017 concerning Elections. Article 1 states, governors and deputy governors, regents and deputy regents, or mayors and deputy mayors as members of campaign teams and / or campaign implementers as referred to in Article 299 paragraph (3) letter b and letter c may be given leave. **
