GOVERNOR of Central Sulawesi Drs. H Longki Djanggola, MSi asked all stakeholders in the tourism sector to continue to improve tourism awareness and charm among the public.

“Continuously increase the awareness of the ‘friendly’, so that tourists feel at home and want to come again to tourist destinations in Central Sulawesi,” said Secretary of Central Sulawesi Province Moh. Hidayat while representing the governor gave a speech at the opening of the workshop on tourism awareness and enchantment 2019 Central Sulawesi Tourism Office in Palu, Thursday (03/21/2019).

According to Hidayat, being aware of these tours includes how to smile to tourists, and when there are goods (belonging to tourists) that are lost and found, so they can be returned.

“Creating a comfortable and safe atmosphere must be encouraged,” he said.

On the other hand, he said, the provincial government is very committed to preparing infrastructure to tourism locations.

In fact, said Hidayat, the provincial government is fighting for the Cultural Heritage Conservation Center which oversees the Central Sulawesi region to be moved from Gorontalo to Palu for the effective management of cultural heritage sites such as the prehistoric megalithic heritage.

Central Sulawesi’s tourism potential, he said, is very much and no less interesting with tourism objects in other developed regions, but not all of them are exposed, for example marine tourism in Banggai Laut Regency.
Hidayat, who once served as Banggai Laut Regent in 2013-2015, said that a remote village was always crowded with foreign tourists. The village information kept moving from mouth to mouth which made other tourists curious to come there.

“Starting from French tourists who came, interacted with the community. From wanting to stay a few days ago for months and finally teaching English to the community,” he said as he told the story of the Tinakin Laut Village which is now Banggai Laut’s tourist village.

Secretary of the Central Sulawesi Tourism Office Drs. Suryaman, M.Sc, said that conscious tourism development and enchantment were in line with the 3A concept introduced by the Minister of Tourism Arief Yahya, namely amenities, attractions and accessibility.

“Amenities in the form of hotel, restaurant and accommodation facilities, attractions are the attraction of destinations and accessibility is transportation, connecting services to destinations,” he said.

The workshop was attended by approximately 50 participants from the OPD elements and tourism partners with speakers from the Ministry of Tourism and the teaching staff of Trisakti Tourism College, Ira Mayasari.**
